Prostituting The Gift
I am amazed at how Jesus will use some very plain language at times when He tells me things. Recently the inward witness spoke a Rhema word to me that churches, pastors and traveling ministers are guilty of “Prostituting The Gift.”
To make a long story short, when a church or pastor or traveling minister is unwilling to confront people in their sin, then Jesus is saying the church or pastor or traveling minister is guilty of “Prostituting The Gift.” Let me give you an example of what Jesus is talking about. It seems very common these days that when a dating couple becomes semi-serious about each other, then that couple begins to start having sex together (ooops, pre-marital sex is a sin). This unmarried couple may even be living together at the same address.
Well… living together and doing sex before marriage is something that Jesus has specifically said is a NO, NO (there are other sins we could talk about, but let’s keep this illustration simple). If… the church, or pastor, or traveling minister is UNWILLING to confront the person with their sin, then… the church, or pastor, or traveling minister is GUILTY of “Prostituting The Gift.” In other words, let’s say the church is a valid church ordained by God, or the pastor is truly called of God to be a pastor, or the traveling minister is truly anointed by God to do ministry. If… the church, or pastor, or traveling minister is afraid to confront the sin in the person’s life because (let’s say) they are concerned that it might make the church offering smaller, then… the church, or pastor, or traveling minister has a legitimate gift/anointing/office/calling from God to do ministry, but because of fear, they are only willing to praise or encourage people but not help people by confronting people with their sin – Jesus calls that “Prostituting The Gift.”
Saying the same thing differently, the church, or pastor, or traveling minister is properly using their gift/anointing/office/calling to minister to and bless people, but… because that same church, or pastor, or traveling minister is NOT willing to confront people with their sin because of fear (fear of a smaller offering, fear of rejection, fear of being despised, etc.) then… Jesus is not happy with that church/pastor/traveling minister because they are using the God given gift to receive a paycheck, but they are not using the God given gift to bring the person to repentance (a change of mind, a change of heart to obey God).
So, why is Jesus telling this to me. I am not sure – maybe it has something to do with the fact that Jesus told me that He has MADE me to be a man of relationships. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Jesus has CALLED me to be a “Repairer Of The Breach” (Isaiah 58:12). Regardless, the Bible instructs us in Matt 10:28 to fear God and not man, and I have to obey Jesus by telling others what Jesus is telling me. In that regard, my purpose is not to criticize nor judge others, but to offer a path or road that I have been on and will continue to travel upon. I call it The Road To Miracles With Jesus.
The Road To Miracles With Jesus is a life journey and if you want to receive the next miracle then you have to be willing to continue down the road towards Jesus. The next miracle is at the next mile marker. If you do not continue to the next mile marker, you will not receive the next miracle. There are at least 4 miracles that you must receive:
Miracle #1 – Tell Jesus you want to receive Him as you Lord and Savior so that you can go to heaven when you die instead of spending eternity with the devil and his demons down in hell (you know, the middle of the earth). Receiving Him as Savior keeps you out of hell, but Jesus requires that you also make Him Lord which means giving up the life of living selfishly and instead living the life of serving Jesus obediently.
Miracle #2 – Tell Jesus you want Him to fill you with the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues so that you can have God’s POWER to live a victorious life instead of a defeated life and are empowered to help others.
Miracle #3 – Tell Jesus you want Him to take you through the process of deliverance from the devil’s curses and bondage so that you are truly FREE to live life rather than suffer oppression and torment from the devil and merely endure life.
Miracle #4 – Tell Jesus you want Him to take you through the process of inner healing so that you can begin to receive miracle after miracle after miracle from Heaven and help others to receive their miracles from Jesus.
